RF Interference

A friend has a issue with remote keys not working so they can't lock/unlock their cars, neighbours driveway gates and their cars too

Nobody seems to have installed anything new, and it's effecting a few neighbours

So how do you trace the point of origin or who to report it too Question Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I recall a great hunt for such interference in a local village and it turned out to be a distribution box for the street lighting that had got dampness in it. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

Been speaking to some people I know , seems like all these "New Smart meters " all the power companies want you to have
Are a major problem with RF noise they emit

Just another thing to look at ...if anyone or all nearby have had one fitted ...
I refuse to have one and there is nothing they can do to " Force "you to have one either..

meters do have a sim card, I know theis because the metering co keep coming and swapping the one in mine as it fails. leading to things like the 20 page leccy bill that arrived yesterday, I kid you not, estimates re estimates, credit notes Its baffling to try and sort

its for 3 meters so not so bad at 7 pages per meter At work

I was at a clay shooting establishment a few years ago which was sited next door to an army training range. A few people had real problems getting their cars started (various models) at the end of the day and the owner even had to leave his Disco there over night, however the next morning he went back and it started first time. We could only assume that the army was doing something that caused the problems. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Even equipment that is supposed to be working at at particular frequency can also produce interference, both at harmonics of that frequency, and on other frequencies as well. It can be quite a low power, but connect it to lots of wiring as in overhead street lighting or around a house and the wiring acts as an antenna to transmit the interference over a huge area.

On forces training ranges they deploy transmitters to overwhelm signals on GPS and cell-phone frequencies to prevent the "contestants" from cheating if they are supposed to be navigating themselves or to have remembered stuff instead of phoning a friend. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

It is all FREQUENCY related

Fist you have to find the local area where which is causing the problem.

Secondly detect the problem frequency (might need a bit of specialist kit like I mentioned in previous post)

sometimes can be as a result of not enough filtering on the offending piece of equpment , if it is from china usually none at all
either a Frequency counter/ R/F SNIFFER (UNTILL YOU HAVE A SPECIFIC FREQUENCY you cannot do anything to rectify the problem .)
