I wouldn't bother paying the dealer on a vehicle over 4 years old as they rip you off. I pay around £230 inc vat which he does to the land rover check list at my mates garage.

Whilst I agree that circa £600 could be termed a rip-off I think £350 (on LR's own 3+ scheme) isn't too bad, bearing in mind you get 'the stamp', possible help in the future from LR and the dealers' overheads?

After the 3rd yr dealer service a local LR indie specialist will get all my work.

Harwoods have let me down at my last service with broken promises and failed to clean the car and kept me waiting nearly 90 minutes after i arrived to collect the car....despite 2 calls and a message saying it was ready for collection and then they failed to switch off the service warning light.

Always been very happy with their service over the last 6 yrs until recently but their attention to detail has fallen and service staff do not do as they say they would. And i have 2 cars with them. Very peed off. I think most of the staff i know have gone.

So Harwoods in Chi did my 6th year B service today for £250 inc - I supplied the parts and oil.

They loaned me a Jaguar XE for two days. Quite nice but a bit of an old mans car, I think.

In the showroom (for 2 days only apparently) was the new Jaguar F-Pace. They said they're getting 50-odd and have already taken deposits for 38 of them. Obviously a lot of money around in Chichester. They start from £34k - this one was about £60k apparently.

Just had my 6th service done on Friday by the indy I use. Price for B service, brake fluid change and MOT Was 321 quid. I can't grumble about that. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

I've had a 120,000km B service done today at Corre Automobiles in Saint Brieuc, my local LR main agent for of 379€ (£300) including parts, oil & VAT.

I would be interested to know what the UK Dealer price is for the parts

Bizarre. FL2 2011 SD4 XS in Galway Green

Been servicing my freelander for the last 4 years once I realised how straightforward it is. Only mildly tricky things are priming the fuel filter and getting the oil filter out. Given the issues I had trying to get (and finally succeeding) LR to pay for my clutch replacement at 40K I see limited value beyond the warrnaty period of going to them

I have used a local indy ever since the 3 year manufacturers warranty expired and have had nothing but excellent service.
Just had the 120,000 service done - Service & MOT, replace brake fluid, replace coolant, drain & refill gearbox and front power transfer unit - £413.00 Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?

+1 for DIY servicing.

Just done mine and discs & pads, if you can fix a bike then you can service a freely. easy peasy.
