Changing Brake Pads

Hi, need to change pads on my 2013my FL2 SD4.

Wondered if there is anything special required to push/wind the pistons back or will a simple G cramp do the job.

Electronic handbrake is not as simple as previous models. Not done mine yet but there is a release routine I think. Hopefully you can free off without a computer. Do a search possibly while waiting for the answer to pop up. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Rolling Eyes you need to release the epb to do the rear discs, the other thread details how to do the front discs and pads, if you can't be bothered reading the threads why not just get someone else to do it Evil or Very Mad

In all fairness, his original question was specifically asking whether any special tool/s was needed to wind the pistons back... not whether or not one needed to release the EPB.

free2SD4Dymamic...
As far as I know, no special tools to push the pistons in. A G-cramp will certainly do the fronts and on my last car (pre EPB) it did the rears.

I havent yet done the current (EPB) car but as I am down to 3mm at the rear it is on the cards to be done soon.

Thanks Happy Nomad,

Front & rear brake pads now changed.

No special tools required, g cramp was fine front and rear.

Set EHB to service mode whilst doing rear - routine in link above.
