Is this right???

Knocking noise update Nr 953 - left the vehicle with the service dept again, they took the back door apart, put it back together and the knocking / creaking is still there. The response - 'take it to where you had it because we cannot find where the creaking is coming from'

I was fobbed off that it could be the chassis creaking and that they 'dont want to mess with that'

As it is a contract hire vehicle I am going to pursue the supplying Marshalls dealership when I find out which area supplied it but my confidence in Landrover Service is 'TOTAL AND UTTER Censored ' I thought Landrover Service was Landrover Service whichever centre you went to???

I just hope Marshalls will sort this issue out my confidence in the Landrover brand has hit rock bottom and if someone wants to pinch the FL2 off my driveway tonight I will gladly include a spare set of floor mats.

I would ask to speak to the service manager first, explain that you are unhappy with the service you have received, and you are going to complain directly to Land Rover customer services, but you are giving him the chance to put things right before you do that.

He will probably hold his hands up and say 'go ahead then' which will make it look even worse when you DO contact LRover.
Thumbs Up

Having said that creaks and rattles are notoriously difficlut to pin down and sometimes the things you notice driving it all the time are not picked up by the mechanic unless it sounds like Laurel and Hardy dragging that piano up 400 flights of stairs or smoke/flames are coming out of the thing..... G'day Shilen, I've got the answer!!! I have had exactly the same problem and now it is completely fixed. From what i understand the right front door had two metal panels creaking against each other. The mechanics have since adjusted the panels so they dont touch any more and the noise has completly gone. If you get your dealer to email landrover@lancedixon.com.au they will be able to give you the exact information. They had to email land rover headquarters in England to ask and they got the response from them. Anyway good luck and I'm sure this will solve all of your problems.

Merely injecting some levity amongst a background of banality tinged with a modicum of sarcasm Mr. Green
