Tinny Noise from the Front of the Engine

I am looking for help guys,

When I simply put the key in the ignition, I hear a tinny noise from the front of the engine.

I looked and it is coming from a unit located on the front of the block with a silver capping plate on the end.

When I touch it there appears to be a motor turning over and the rattling noise changes when i depress the end cap

When I take the key out it carries on for a couple of minutes and then stops

Any ideas as to what this is?

The engine works fine and there are no other apparent problems

Thanks in advance

Sounds like the Motorised Throttle Valve
They are noisy at the best of times..

IMO you would be wise to replace the hose at the same time
With a silicone one see photo

Snorkel
raised axle/gearbox breathers
Mantec tank guard
Cb radio
Blanked EGR
Sump guard
Scratches
Snolkle

What is the benefit of fitting this silicone hose in place of the original?
