Electric Leather Seats into 2010 Freelander 2 S Spec

Hi.

Didnt want to hijack the other thread. Basically I have a 2010 Freelander TD4e S coming tomorrow and have seen a full set of Leathers from a 2009 GS.

From experience will this just go straight in a plug and planner or is there some mods needed.

Cheers

Should be plug and play unless you want seat heaters and electric memory seats.
Need to check floor harness for wiring and adding modules to enable other features. MY15

What king of modules will be needed. The ones am looking at are just standard electric seats. BUt I have seen another set on this forum that someone is selling from a 2012 that has memory function and heaters. So what extra modules will be needed to get them working. Not too concerned about the memory function (although would be useful seeing as am 6ft and the mrs is 5ft!!) But would be good to have the heated elements working

First thing you need to do is check the floor harness plug.
This one.

I suggest you read this thread and follow what I've don't thus far!

https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic26709.html

As you have an "S" it's unlikely the wiring will be there but you never know!
You'll also need to change the HVAC module for a seat heater version.

The seat heater module and harness are inexpensive and attach under the seats. If you buy seats that are heated I would imagine the harness and module will be attached! As I said the floor harness is your first priority! MY15

Also need to check if your model has a passenger seat occupancy sensor (it's a weight sensor built into the seat base) if it does you might have some issues with the airbag system when swapping complete seats.

If you PM me your VIN I can look up the as-built files and check. 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers

I believe the wiring to be present in facelift models only but could be wrong. Best way to check is take a look at wiring plug on drivers seat for the following wires
Red - permanent +12V
Brown/White - Switched +12V
Twisted pair of Violet/Orange and Grey/Orange - MS CAN

Memory seats do not require any extra fitting to non memory - module etc. all on seat. 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

HS CAN = "WH" "WH/BU" twisted pair

MS CAN = "GY/OG" "V/OG" twisted pair

Heated seat uses "LIN" (single wire) from HVAC ECU

Or is it different on early L359 JimNi? MY15

Same all models I believe Stuart, HS CAN will be in all model looms for airbags, pre tensioner, occupancy sensor etc. Only listed seat movement specific cables to save confusion Thumbs Up

Just noticed auto spell had changed MS CAN to HSE in my earlier post, now corrected Shocked 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Hi. Need to get those Leather Seats now and wondered what your thoughts were. Do you think they could fit into an Astra Estate. Not too concerned about the rear seats as am presuming its just 2 bench style pieces so would just slide in but not sure how bulky the electric/heated front seats are.

Laughing shudve seen those comments coming.

Neway back 2 business. I am off to the breakers at the weekend who has an 2009 HSE in with rear damage. Am buying electric heated memory seats from someone on the forum but what do i need to pull out from the hse one so that the seats can be fitted easily fit into an S Spec.

Am thinking the wiring loom that goes under the seats which will plug in somewhere behind the dash and the heater controls (for the heated seats).

Also is there anything else worth taking out that I could fit into the S Spec.
