"Highest Road"

Hi yesterday we drove the "highest road" green lane from nr Alston, County Durham, to Ireshopeburn. The weather was not great but you could still see a fair way.

We started at the Alston end working towards Ireshopeburn.

The ruts were very deep at the beginning, but once round that it was great.

Here are a few pics from the day.

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Narvik Black

I can beat that - 7.316ft up to the village of Cervinia in the Italian Alps, it snowed for 30 hours non-stop but next morning everything was running as if nothing had happened.
However at -17ºC at night we had a problem starting next morning - I think a couple of glow plugs need replacing. Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?

I know the road well!

Drove it last in my old Disco in the snow (which was fun).

There's also a great ford near the exit (not the Ireshopeburn end).

And some severe potholes, near Stanhope (and quite rightly the greenlane was closed for a while not long after this photo was taken)
