Just seen this on Autotrader. Is it a legal car in respect of UK being an "Import"?

They do have what they call Grey Imports that are brought into the country but require parts fitting or swopping to make them legal here.
Where you can run into trouble is later when you need spare parts and theres no record on the UK dealer parts database of what you need or whats fitted or they cant be got here in the UK.

Insurers also tend to ask whether the car is an import (I've just renewed my insurance!). Dealers also ask about it for part exchanged vehicles. Don't know whether a "yes" answer makes any difference though. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

The engine is the same as what's under the bonnet of the Evoque, so parts should be fine. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

It appears to be registered in UK so it will be legal. As they are not made for UK or other EU counties (as far as I know) it is unlikely to have an EU Certificate of Conformity CoC so probably it passed an SVA or IVA on re-importation.

My own car was built for Swiss market and had to pass an SVA or IVA before LR registered it in UK. At least the Autotrader car is RHD and probably has the correct headlamps. Mine were changed to RHD then changed back to LHD. The speedometer is not a problem as you can activate the digital speedo in miles or kms.

Doesn't look a particularly high spec and I cannot see the advertised sun roof.

Insurance can be more difficult because the model is not listed on the UK database (the computer says no). It's not impossible though and I insured mine in UK before exporting it to LT. Once it is registered in an EU country re-registering is usually not difficult. I say usually because the French can be more difficult if there is no CoC. driving on the right side
