engine start up with weird car shake

Hello,
I have what seems to be a weird issue.i have a f/l 2 gs 63 plate. on pressing start very intermittently the engine seems to start but kind of mis fires, at the same time the WHOLE car shakes and the wheels appear to vibrate/move , almost as if something is partially engaging . it continues for 20 to 40 seconds.
It has done this 7 times in 18 months. its now been back to landrover 3 times but the cant replicate the fault nor found any issues/codes.
the last time it happened, it was more violent and we got a smell in the car along with a little smoke....which scared the kids but again i had it recovered but NO FAULT found ?!
Ive complained to landrover HQ but just getting Censored around by them.

Has anybody experienced anything like this ? seems as if Landrover need advice!!!!I have video footage to back it up.

What would you recommend i do next ?
Any help would be

Thanks for reading

Ive had the misfire effect once in 6 years but never accompanied by smells and smoking inside the car.
I assumed the misfire was caused by a leaky injector sort of flooding the engine momentarily?, but as i say it only happen the once years back and no smoke.
The fact youre now getting filling the car with smoke enough to frighten the kids means something is seriously wrong there.

Experienced something similar only once with my previous MY11, it started but with the impression it was on three cylinders. The car was shaking violently so switched off and re-started normally. When next passing I nipped into LR dealer and no fault codes, his words were the ECU got in a ker-fuddle as to the correct firing order Confused Never happened again and no 'extras' like the OP's.

I have experienced this a couple of times on two different FL2s. You start up and the whole car shakes about. You stop and restart and all is fine and it doesn't happen again for about 6 months. I seem to recall someone saying that it was only on cars with a specific ECU. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE

Wonder which ECU causes the car to fill up with smoke inside to frighten the kids though?
Make a good anti theft device me thinks.

I've experience this twice, in my wife's car, one random start @ a year ago and it ran as if on two cylinders, stopped on command and restarted and all was OK.

Last week my wife complained the cars sometimes didn't start, I started / stopped the car @ 100 times over 3 days, trying to ascertain if there was an issue with the start/stop switch or the clutch pedal switch, on this occasion I was pressing the button on/off whilst lifting the clutch pedal.

It was quite scary as there was no instrumentation and the oil warning light was on, didn't respond to the button to stop, and I immediately stalled the engine in gear.

It restarted immediately on command.

I suspect the multiple presses got the ECU it out of sync.,,,,,,,,

No issue since.

Landrover did do a ECU reset or something in August and it was fine until December when the smoke started ...

What i dont understand is why the wheels would move forth and back .... I am going to try and post the Video footage but its the noise thats strange .......

Sounds like something is blowing, may be a split turbo hose (but I would have thought an error code would show) or breather pipe?

No Nothing at all, no fault codes , Landrover had it firstly for 5 days, then 8 days, then 10 days!

they say they need a fault code but the recovery chap ( ladrover technician) suggested Mass fly wheel or tensioning pully,...for a visual inspection but the havent done that !!!

its annoying because when i start her up sometimes it feels like its going to do it but doesnt....it just switches of Big Cry

Weird vibration

Stalled the car pulling out of a very steep side road today and on restarting the whole car started shaking and wouldn't move. Stopped and restarted it and no problem. I think all the electronics were getting confused with stalling, epb coming off (or not)? All a bit strange
