This has affected a great many of us at some point and I lost both my grandparents to it (on my mum's side). My dad (67) was diagnosed with esophageal cancer just before Christmas. This caused great shock and stress to the family obviously and I'm going to be very open with you guys here, when my supervisor at work the next day offered me support and kind words (she is brilliant) I broke down. The shock had finally worn off and the emotions just kicked in.

my brother had thyroid cancer about 20 years or so ago, my dad was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer just over a year ago, which was also found in his liver, chemo and radio therapy and they seem to have stabilised the lung, the liver is now been fought with all the advancement in cancer research available Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

We've lost a few friends and family to cancer including my Father in Law but we have more that have beaten it. We now have a standing order to cancer relief taken from our account each month. It's good to know the consultant is confident of a 100% cure and although it will be tough, it won't all be for nothing and there's plenty out there that would like those odds. Just stay strong for him. |

I lost my wife to bowel cancer in 2010.In April 2014,I was diagnosed with kidney cancer.Coincidentally,I had my left kidney removed with the tumour on my wife's birthday.I haven't had any further treatment, but have to go for a CT scan every 6 months. So far,I've been clear. My specialist told me that it was caught early,so,so far so good.
