Never heard it on my FL2, but on other cars I have had two possibilities spring to mind.

My car doesn't buzz when it's switched off, but there is a high pitched tone from the engine, I've always thought this to be the ECU. Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass |

Yeh, it's a high pitched sound, you can only hear it when standing outside the car. |

The sound seems to come from the front right hand side indicator grill and sounds to me like it could be coming from the air condition system. I wonder if the noise is there if if the engine is turned off after not using the air-con. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Maybe it's all the hamsters that run on the wheel inside the engine relaxing and turning their little tellies on |

If you don't lock the doors the hamsters go on standby. They smoke, have a coffee etc.
