I visit the competitor DS site quite often as part of my research on the next car. it is active. The correlating DS sister forum here is dead.

Same problem with the sister site to this one - BabyRR.com - I joined up when I bought an Evoque thinking it would be the same but there is very little activity on the site, lucky if it averaged six new posts per day. I'm also on the Evoque competitor forum and it's very lively. There's a few names on there that I remember from here. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

The problem will be compounded with the apparent baby disco sport due in the next couple of years and needing a forum too.

As someone said to me the other day, a person who has just bought a new Evoque by the way, Now they have stopped making the Freelander it will soon date and look old fashioned, true when you look back at the big Range Rovers of similar shape they look really old now.

A FFRR will never look dated. They better with age. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Perhaps an alternative solution is to put a sub section in the Disco forum

Can't see it, its viewed as an embarrassment to the Discovery name, it is the anti Christ over there. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

aww bless 'em - Yeah it's likely embarrassingly too reliable for a disco forum.

It will help them get used to the look of Disco '5'

The Disco Sport is worse than the big Disco.

Build quality is poor, a lot of software problems, auto gearbox problems and not to mention the delays from the factory with super duper Ingenium engine. My one suffered delays due to the rear seats, and they still rattled and squeaked after delivery, B-pillar buzzed.

I can't see me going for the D5. I feel for the guys that want a Disco Commercial, a popular model that is being dropped, another class of customer that LR don't want. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Think that's a bit strong. I'd say it's more like someone else's 5 year old running about bumping into everyone's knees and we just ignore it... Freelander 2 2007 TD4 Manual HSE Tambora Flame

Fits in well with the Disco family then!

Nah. D3&4s aren't poorly built or at all like the above. Nor are they light-weight, small or have a low driving position and a rounded shape. So, why would they choose the Discovery name if they're so bad... Whistle

In truth though, I have no idea why they have, because of all the LRs, the FL2 is pretty highly regarded. I'm a great fan of the FL2 and I don't see why the Freelander name was considered detrimental. Confused Thumbs Up Freelander 2 2007 TD4 Manual HSE Tambora Flame

I have no doubt the Freelander badge will return, be it a smaller model. It's only logical! The outgoing Freelander was a product of spearheading the US market.
Im pretty sure one day the marketing department/person whom thought of the current marketing plan will either have been forgotten or fired! It's as simple as that!
The latest LR offer, DS, is such a mish mash that it hardly represents a clear distinction for the 3 tier model line up for LR.
Is it a LR, RR, Evoque???? So much for 3 distinct branches of the LR family. MY15

The Fl2 is more of a baby Disco than the DS will ever be. I just can't believe I ignored all my doubts during the order process and went ahead with it, I even had a D4 speced just in case.

The DS is an Evoque LWB, perhaps merge they two forums. "How dare they" I here them cry "we are Range Rover owners" Laughing 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
