I'd try a warranty claim that way you should get an OEM replacement. FL2 SD4 Metropolis Auto Santorini Black / ivory completely stock.

A windscreen can crack when whats called a stress raiser is pressing on the glass, this can be a spot weld flare in the windscreen aperture that missed inspection before painting on the line, it bears against the glass until eventually over time it causes the crack. I heard of this cause happening several times. |

spoke with the dealer yesterday, who upon inspection and using what looked to be a highlighter marker pen, ran it along the crack and it showed a tiny rough patch which must have been the impact point, whenever that happened

Had a replacement windscreen fitted a couple of months ago (BY AUTOGLASS ,Saltney)
