It's not a definitive, just mostly. LRUK register on average 80 vehicles a week, mainly for internal use, and once they hit 3000 miles, they're off to Dealers or Car Hire company's. Hire company's dispose of them typically at 10000 miles usually to auction, Dealers typically lose them by 6-8000 miles. It's all about the rebates..... ![]() On a slightly different but relevant note, both Thames Valley and Hertfordshire Constabulary have vehicles registered as 'OU'...even the unmarked ones...they stick out like a sore thumb. Why they seemingly have exclusivity over this prefix is anyones guess, however my brother in law has recently picked up a silver Corsa as a cheap runabout, which, as the reg and V5 predictabley told was a former TVP Community Support car in another life. Foraging near Gaydon.... 覧覧覧覧覧覧覧 MY13 HSE Lux SD4, Baltic Blue - current, 30,000> miles without fault MY12 HSE 2.2 SD4, Sumatra Black - gone after 10 months/43,000 fault-free miles |

That doesn't explain the hire car company being the first registered owner and the dealers explanation as ex LR, especially after I questioned whether there were any ex hire cars. There is the possibility that the owner is still LR and the hire company is the keeper. Very tentative as a true answer, problem was OH wouldn't accept me chasing it up as she wanted to keep the car and considered the buying process very pleasant. I had to shut her up when I was pushing for better deal. Very nice people and all that, whereas I just considered they wanted as much of my money as possible. |

A lot of vehicles that LR supply used to the dealers are not LR Fleet cars but vehicles supplied to the likes of Enterprise, I know, I bought one,the first on I had was ex LR Fleet supplied to the dealer from LR, it's history revealed it was an ex Enrerprise, possibly supplied to use as replacement vehicles via LR Asssist. Oh and mine was first registered at Chester. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |
