I have washed the car today with a mitt and noticed I have some sort of transfer effect on my gloss black door handles. I have never came across this and I'm wondering what could have caused this ? The door handle is still smooth and does not feel uneven at all.

Looks like residue from something that has been stuck to it, possibly masking tape when it was in the body shop?

Forgot to say I noticed this before it went into the bodyshop. I assumed it was some sort of road spray residue as the car was quite mucky. I have tried sticky stuff removed and autoglym polish but no joy MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

A quick update the dealers used industrial strength polish and the residue has finally gone! It was down the door also they said it appears to have been a glue like substance thrown over the car.
