United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

I made the same point on another thread when I saw a new RR Sport from the rear and was sure it was a DS until I saw the Rangey badge. I think LR are definitely on a looser blurring the distinctions between the Range Rover and the Land Rover products and the styling similarities do not help when it makes the cars look to be out of the same mould. Modern SUVs do not all have to look the same however - the squashed roof and ugly harse end are now something of a LR design speciality - the new Volvos for example manage to retain a distinct look and identity.
The Defender is simply too poor a vehicle to compete with anything much unless you are a full time off road user and even then it is still just not good enough - but at least it looks unique and timeless.

Very much doubt LR are on a loser, their products are walking out the showrooms. They can't keep up with demand.

They would be on a loser if they continued on the path they were on, big, heavy, high polluting vehicles with the aerodynamics of a brick.

The volvos will follow suit, the new XC60 will be a smaller version of the XC90. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

There may be an advantage to the more economical vehicles when used, however when paying £40K+ for a vehicle, economy and emissions are not the first priority, more, will it suit my purpose or impress on the school run. Very Happy my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Car manufacturers get penalised for high emissions, that's what I mean.

I can cross the the school run off my list, I don't have kids, perhaps my dog likes to show off to his mates Laughing 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
