United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Baltic Blue

No compass in my mirror as far as I know...li use the Nav Screen compass for that if I need it. Foraging near Gaydon....

From what I understand it's the sensor in the mirror which faces the rear of the car that identifies if it should auto-dim. Somehow it detects headlights behind you? If this is the case the front windshield tint should not matter which I think is why they do it that way....unless you tinted your rear window.

Australia 2015 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Aintree Green

I have dark tinted windows all round, darkest legal plus factory (well it is Australia you know!!!) and the auto dimming mirror works fine. Quite noticeable at night, quite a cool device!
Ok, this sounds promising.
Thxs for Pt No's will invesitgate as i don't think JLRA ever offered as an option here in Australia but noticed now an option on the DS just being released.
