why not go the whole hog? I can post you a bag of grade A British milling wheat, all you need is a hammer and plenty of time.

Blimey, sounds like that's another race you don't like. First caravanners, now home bakers...that's exactly how Hitler started!

We banished our breadmaker to the loft as we were all suffering from severe 'bread bloat'.

Made my first bread today without a bread maker. Sort of 50/50; food processor for kneading and knocked back by hand. My Aunty told me to put a bowl of warm water in the oven to improve texture. Result? Yummy. Shan't be buying a bread maker now thanks to you Bill |

I nearly bought that one because it was in stainless steel but plumped for the SD2500. The only advantage of the SD25002 is that it has an automatic nut/raisin dispenser - fine if you make those types of loaves. It is taller/wider/deeper than the 2500. Having said that, I've just nicked some spices and dried fruit off of my mum and I'm making a spicey fruit loaf so I will have to wait for the timer to tell me when to chuck the dried fruit in. |

Fruit loaf. Another success. This bread is bloody addictive. It don't hang around long! |
