Seen this over the weekend sadly a chaps car had the 22's wheels stripped! The also damaged the paint work!

Now I know that you can get the alloys off by many means without eductating others how to do it! What is the best type of locking wheel nut available on the market ....

Probably a few prints on the jack, wanted the jack back, otherwise why lower the car after nicking the wheel my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Judging by the state of the discs it looks as if that car hasn't moved recently.

I heard once about a non UK spec prestige brand car in London having it's wheels nicked. I can't remember the details but for some reason there was only a handful of cars in the UK that they would actually fit so the police just tipped off the local dealers for the marque. The idiots were caught when they tried to sell them back to a dealership!

Probably the ones fitted as standard as pretty difficult to remove without damaging them!

I think they would melt this down!

Probably they thought that he has no need for the wheels as, by the lack of registration numbers, the car seems to not be registered and therefore it wont move...

It's terrible that not only have they nicked the blokes wheels but the manner in which they've up the car doing it - I'd be fuming about that more than my god awful alloys going astray.

That said, they have probably done him a favour - nice car spoilt by those wheels! I'm all for modding in a subtle manner but that is extreme vandalism (by the owner).

This is the 2nd car I have heard this happen to in as many days. On the Fiesta ST forum a guy with a new 64 plate ST2 Birmingham railway station car park, came back to find the door jimmied, window smashed & the car dumped on the ground with all 4 wheels gone.

Apparently an area that stored loads of Ford wheels got done over a couple of times & the wheels were found on their way to Eastern Europe (what a surprise!).

I said on there that only a few days ago I was talking to someone about wheels & they said they don't get nicked any more as most cars have them standard from the factory. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

Was that car alarmed and did it go off? I ask because if you do have lockable wheel nuts, 99% of the time the key is going to be in the vehicle, and I suppose in a convenient place. So if they are not worried about the alarm going off, then they are not going to be worried about smashing their way in to get the key.

I guess if you have a key, locating it somewhere thats not easy to find quickly might be a good idea.

You can buy a kit for a few quid that removes most locking wheel nuts.
You it really worries you find a Discovery owner, most end up having to change the locking wheel nuts as the are , they expand in time and you can't get them off without a lot grief, sure he will let you have his old ones.
