Rupert will not eat dry biscuits unless he has a pouch of meat added, his morning bowl can be still there on an evening, given the same biscuits but with a pouch of JWB turkey rice it's gone in seconds

We feed ours Jameswellbeloved. We always mix a quarter of a small tray of meat with it and then a splash of water so you are left with a meaty, biscuity soup. Susie used to always leave some food before this but now she leaves nothing. Also, we never leave uneaten food - she gets fed twice a day and if she doesn't eat it at those times, it gets chucked.

Nick.. Are you sure you aren't feeding her too much. We based our feed on the manufacturers recommendations for her weight but she was getting rather barrel like so we've cut that down by half. When we went away over the new year with all our dogs, our breeder came with us with her dogs too. She was feeding her dogs HALF the amount that we were feeding ours which is why we are gradually cutting hers down. She fed her dogs only once a day (just kibble) and that amount was what we fed ours twice a day - plus meat! Her vet advised her not to feed to the manufacturers guidelines - their interest is in selling more food!

We put down the recommended portion on a morning

This is just nibbled at through the day, he doesn't eat it straight off

What ever is left is normally thrown or mixed with a JWB puppy pouch on the evening

Our vet has said leaving it down is ok and he will eat when hungry, though the same vets has said to my brother not to leave food down, but that might be due to his dog been a Dalmatian and they will just eat and eat and eat

At the moment he is having a half tray of wainwrights meat, with a small portion of biscuits on top Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Yep, he's learnt there's no rush to eat and if he waits long enough he gets tasty stuff as a reward.

Ours get there's down for 20 mins and if not eaten its picked up or given to one of the other dogs. When we just had one we did the same as you and kept changing foods till one of our gundog friends told us to just take it up and give it again for dinner. Repeat with same food till they eat it.

She lasted 3 days before relenting and haven't had a problem since for 4 years Rolling Eyes

Edit: we do put water in ours, just enough to coat them but not soak.

I've tried water, from just a little to semi soggy finish

His been funny since we got him, it's not something new, fed on skinners by breeder, brought home, not interested

I don't mind wet food, but would have preffered dried complete Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
