United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Baltic Blue
Lakeland Land Rover, Coniston, Cumbria

I have just returned from a very pleasant weekend in the Lake District. As well as some stunning views, I have also picked up my new FL, and believe me, it was well worth the trip.

This car belonged to the family of the Dealer Principal, and as this is a family run business, rather than some greedy faceless Corporate, they pay particular attention to making the Customer feel valued, their business wanted, and compared to an horrendous experience with some of the other so-called "major players" out there, they couldn't have done enough for me.

The whole experience was positive from the initial call, right up to handover yesterday. A nice touch was a full tank of Diesel and a complimentary touch up kit/set of LR Rubber Mats without even having to ask for it....I can imagine having to haggle with some young lad with a huge knot in his tie just to get something like that from one of the bigger dealers (and I CAN visualise it, because I had to do just that with one in Slough that shall remain nameless!)

A fantastic overall experience, a stonkingly good deal, and service to make me feel pretty happy (which is hard at the best of times, according to Mrs.Badger!) the only annoyance with Cumbria is the amount of effing 'vanner's who hog the whole of the road, so I can understand where CG's frustrations now come from... Laughing Foraging near Gaydon....

Badger, assuming you traded your old FL2 against the new car, how did that process work so far from home ? We're there caveats on the deal depending on condition the day you arrived ?
Also, dealer principal without a FFRR or RRS ?? !! FL2 2007 57 GS
D2 2005 Td5 - gone and not missed
FL1 2005 Td4 - gone and missed

I did trade it against my old one. It was done on trust over the telephone, my other one was mint, and was exactly as described. They had 3 weeks to service and prep the replacement, which they did to my complete satisfaction. It was a pleasure dealing with them compared to some of the "chains" who get it so wrong a lot of the time.

Ps: RRS in Orange in their Showroom...very nice too! The FL2 belonged to the DP's wife. I don't know what he drove.... Foraging near Gaydon....

I know quite a few people who have bought from here and also had servicing/warranty work done and all have been pleased with this dealership.

I purchased a 110 CSW Xs from them in 2006/7
the car was great
one of he salesman was awful
I see from the "about us" he has moved up in the world
he told us the car was available
then want as a local might want it and would not take a deposit to secure it.
I spoke with the then dealer principle
whom sorted it all out.
we picked the car up set off home
filled up at the next garage
to have diesel spill all over the floor
the hose from the filler to the tank was split,
returned to the dealer
they after some groaning took the part from a brand new one in the show room whilst we waited.

the whole time we were there the said awful salesman did not speak, acknowledge or apologise for his manner.
a long time ago
but I have a long memory

Took the FL2 to Coniston today for a 48k service. This is the friendliest main dealer I have used for any marque. I'd never been there before but was treated like an old friend. Totally honest too, they could have sold me some rear discs and pads but said that the discs were fine, they would just file the lip off... I've had that from an indy before but never a main dealer.

They offered a Disco Sport as a courtesy car, I said that there would be 3 dogs in the boot and had they got something that they might lend a local farmer... response was "don't worry about it!"

Great excuse for a day in the Lakes with the dogs too. Will be back
