Hi does any one else find their fuel gauge hovers below the FULL level even when filling to the brim?
Try as I might the needle is always 3 or 4mm under the FULL line?

I brimmed mine for the first time yesterday and the needle was about 4 mm above the full mark. I had issues with my fuel gauge dropping to zero. This was fixed by replacing the wiring to the senders, there is a LR technical bulletin about it that the mechanic showed me. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Booked in with Donna at Bury LR next week for an ECU update to sort the intermittent starting problem
She remembers you we'll and sends her regards
Cheers for the headsup and hopefully the update will resolve the 1 in 100 mid starts - FL2 3.2 i6 - There is no Replacement for Displacement

If my wife ever sells my stuff for what I told her I paid for it, there will be some bargains out there!

MY07 XS TD4 I've just had a specialist, but not main dealer, rejig the wiring as per the technical note. However LR main dealer didn't do that when it was in - they offered a £480 replacement of the sender units! Anyway, LR look right, the rejig hasn't fixed the issue, still get intermittent drops to zero Crying or Very sad

Colliera - I'm not saying this will work, but there is a software fix for the fuel gauge issue. Its something to do with the instrument cluster. Do you ever get an error message such as "steering column locked" when driving?

Failing that it could well be the senders at fault. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Thanks Stevie5tapes, I do get the steering lock message but only when the sod won't start! Then I have to take the battery off. that happens daily now Crying or Very sad
Don't suppose you heard a release number for the fix? I will ask when I take it in. It's a strange one though, very intermittent.

I'm not sure of the tech bulletin number, there are a few threads on here about it. When my fuel gauge started dropping to zero, my indy did the software upgrade as he said it usually fixes the problem. That didn't work so he rewired the senders. He said the early model FL2 had issues with instrument cluster faults, the fuel gauge being one of them, other problems being steering column locked messages. He said the software update is the first thing to do.

I asked about replacing the senders and he said it would be required as it was a known problem about the wiring. So far I've not had any issues. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

steering lock message and starting issues

Stevie5tapes, just updated my starting issues problem here... http://www.freel2.com/forum/post238361.html#238361
Does seem to have made progress, though can't imagine this will have changed anything on the fuel guage issue for me

I do not know whether this is relevant but I had a problem with the fuel gauge some months ago when the needle would not drop below the half full reading. I thought at the time it was going to be an expensive job but the solution appeared by accident. To cut a long story short, I have a very steep drive and always parked the car facing downhill until my son returned from several months away from home when I started to reverse the car in to create a more efficient parking arrangement for three cars which enabled the drivers door on each car to be opened without effecting any of the others. After a couple of days stood in this reverse position the fuel gauge was again fully functional so obviously I have continued to park the car in this way and not had a problem since. It appears that the bottom sender/float unit had stuck in some way due to the steep incline and whilst it may require further attention it appears to be fine at the present time.
