We weren't sure whether to have a dog or a bitch. The breeder told us it all depended on whether we wanted to keep our lawn or our flowers. In the end we were chosen by a bitch so we now have a patchwork lawn.

Spaniels are better off with docked tails you should see the damage to a full tail after they have been working not all of them will be working dogs but at the end of the day they are turbo charged hunting machines.

If you intend to work it then it makes sense to have it docked and dew claws removed.

Once had someone (on her first time out) come up to me at a shoot shouting at me for how cruel it was that I had done this to my dog and how she had kept hers "intact". She went home at lunchtime due to the fact her dog had ripped one of its dew claws out and split its tail. Never saw her again.
