Unless you can plug it in to Diagnostics and see what codes are being displayed it would really be guesswork. |

The fact you're caravanning suggests that the transmission maybe getting hot and sending you a warning. Stopping cools it down until you get going again. Downhill and slower running will keep things under control hence different journeys may or may not trigger the warning.

Hi, havent been caravanning with the fault. The fault only showed yesterday, Due to go caravanning this weekend.

As AD says, without looking to see what faults are logged we're just guessing, but the "traction reduced" message is normally associated with the four-wheel-drive system (Haldex, terrain response and all the sensors and actuators which it uses) rather than the gearbox itself.

Had the same issue - a few years ago, turned out to be a wheel sensor, they are used fro the ABS when braking and used by the traction control when driving.
