Pirelli Scorpion Verde for summer?

Old Scorpion zeros were down to 3 to 4 mm so bought some Nokian SUV3's for the winter. Once stuff warms up ( I assume it will for the summer) I wax thinking of a set of Scorpion Verdes, flea Bay has quite a few as evoque take offs with rims........ Thoughts on the Verdes?

I saw those recently and was tempted, new rims and tyres seemed to make sense, however, I have had two sets of zeroes, each lasting 35k miles and have never put a foot wrong. going up Kielder again soon so thought that the Verde tyre was less aggressive and may struggle a little, that said, they were fine on the Evoque at the LRE, assuming that is what was fitted. I am told they only use standard fit tyres at the centres.

In the end I plumped for 3 Zero tyres, had one in the boot as a full size spare, cost £450 for three so the eBay offers with rims make an attractive proposition, looking the tread they must surely be quieter?

In fitted P S Verde MnS 18"Evoque "take-off" wheel set last summer.

They are quiet, and held well in the rain and upon braking. Better and much quieter that the 17" factory fitted G Wanglers MnS originally on the FL2. If you want some stevep999 I can supply such Evoque wheels at a very keen price - see my original for sale ad in that thread Idea http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic16211.html

Verde AS are a very nice smooth running pretty good in the wet weather, the AS stands for All Season.

Always happy to quote you for tyres. Thumbs Up Andy.

Er - surely you are not proposing to drive with two different styles of alloys on the vehicle at the same time as per your photo Question

If you are short of the Evoque style alloys I can let you have one or two to make up the full set - including the same style for a full size spare so that your Freelander is "properly" dressed for an outing Idea

Assuming they are both the same size I would use which ever are easier to clean with the jet wash for the winter set.
Availability of tyres would be deciding factor for different sizes.

Afraid I did just that for the last two years owing to a mistake when I took the wheels in to AJS for winter tyres. Oh the embarrassment but actually nobody noticed until I mentioned it. Had to get the tyres swapped over to sell the car! I now have a MY14 with matching wheels! And I even wash it from time to time (because, unfortunately, it's black).
