United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 Dynamic Auto Firenze Red
Dynamic

After much research, mostly from this excellent forum - thanks guys, I have purchased a 6 month old Dynamic.

Most of the extras on it was what I wanted, including the ugly kid glass, rear camera and full size spare wheel. Could have done without the roof bars, especially as it will cost another hundred of so quid to add the necessary rails.

Bit of getting used to from an old Saab, but getting to iike the auto transmission, just have to remember to slow down a bit more for corners.

Fits in my garage - just, inch to spare either side of garage door. I am very careful driving in and out of garage. But then when car was in the garage I opened up the boot and CRASH, tailgate hit garage door, leaving a deep scratch - about one inch long - not good! Crying or Very sad Will now try and get repaired and get some foam to put on garage door to prevent it happening again.

Getting a squeak from the steering wheel/colum I think - hoping it will go away soon.

But overall very impressed.

Hi Nigep,

NIce colour! As for the tight squeeze through the garage doors - are yoiu aware that the side mirrors can be tucked in by pressing the L & R mirror buttons (ie the buttons that select left or right side mirror adjustment) at the same time.

Enjoy!

Thanks Spelchek

Yes I like the feature that allows you to tuck in the mirrors in this way, and also that mirrors will not open when you start the engine if you have closed the mirrors in yourself. Useful if you start the engine up in a tight space.

Thanks wizking. Shame about the scratch though .... Anyone know how much it would cost to repair - may try ChipsAway.

i would only use chipsaway if your desperate, or you know from experience your local man does a good job, as some repairs i have seen are terrible as they dont have the skills after a short training session

I would look for a local, independent/apprentice trained bodyshop or private mobile spray repairer and get them to look at it

I did when one of my cars was keyed and they did the front wing and passenger door for £170, and this was done in his garage come spray booth and the finish was perfect

Where in staffordshire are you? I know a very good 'one man band' specialist in Walsall who repaired a scratch on my first FL2 (Rimini Red) and the repair was un-noticable. Let me know and I can PM his details if you want. Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
Gone - 2014 BMW X3 M Sport Space Grey, faultless!
Gone - 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Bali Blue with xenons
Gone - 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Rimini Red with bodykit

Many thanks for the replies. I live not too far from Walsall, so would be nice to know of a good repairer there. Need to call into the dealers next week to get spare key - so may ask them to quote me as well.

Thanks PuffyMcScrote and Yanwoo - appreciated.

I do like the red and black combination on the outside, still not sure about the red and black leather seats though.

Nice car Thumbs Up the roof rails aren't cheap I specced them up on my 14 dynamic along with the cross bars! I wouldn't complain that you have the rails but not the bars Laughing MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Thanks LR NUT. They do add something to the overall look of the car, think I'll keep them on.
