Hi Guys
Has anyone had a problem with engine loss of power while driving in heavy rain?
I had this happen to me back in November driving along motorway torrential rain and Freelander started missing on acceleration around 2000 revs. I kept driving and rain stopped about 20 mins later problem went away.
Took Freelander into dealers was told they new about problem and i needed a software update to cure it.
Update done and all was fine until Saturday in the heavy rain my Freelander started missing again at 2000 revs.
I did a search on here and read about the crankshaft sensor maybe the issue. I sprayed the cable and connection to the sensor with WD 40.Retried the car and it was fine. would the crankshaft sensor cause the problems i am getting? or is the WD40 just a coincidence? I have freelander booked into dealers again on the 20th ill report back if they find the fault.
