After having a puncture at work recently on the MI, nearside rear, set about changing it a bit smartish, just got the wheel off when Police arrived, asked to what I was doing |

Ah, but I suppose the upside is that having got someone to do it for you, he gets flattened by the artic - not you! Expensive option though unless you are a member of a roadside recovery service. |

glad they stopped for you, a few years back the caravan had a tyre issue and the police drove past, highways agency drove past, 2 hours on the layby waiting for caravan club mayday service to turn up, along with my very young daughter in a pushchair and us lot huddle under a brolly

You pays your money you takes your chance, was on partly off the hard shoulder with a keen eye on the traffic, it surprising how quick you can change a wheel when when you ring piece is puckered. |
