I'm assuming you have turned the volume up? As a direction is being given turn up the volume control (radio volume control dial) I understand this will be hard to test not being able to hear instructions!
If it's not that, have you tried removing the DVD and reinserting? (under drivers seat).

Tried both but nothing yet no audio at all. Sounds daft but do you need the specific disc for the year or model or do any work The disc that is in is freelander 2. 13/14 disc B

Has it worked before and stopped, or it's never worked, and have you looked in the navigation settings it might be turned off in there, I have mine turned off as a rule but turn it back on if I'm getting close to my destination sometimes.

Yes turned on in the settings Had the disc in and out to reload but nothing. I said to the garage there is no cd in the navigator and when I went to collect the car the guy said I have put the latest disc in so I just noticed the sat nav was on so thought no more of it. Work mate has had one and he had a look and said the audio settings just are not responding could that be the software. Must be a reason thanks for your help guys. Not a big deal ,anyway there has to be something wrong with y second hand car or life would be boring .

Wrecknett, have just experienced the same problem.

Was yours a genuine LR disc or something else? I bought a - supposed - "update" from the ************* and tried to install it today. Maps all look the same but no sound! I miss that nice lady telling me to 'turn here' etc, and it just ain't safe to be driving by looking at the map screen instead of the road. The earlier 10/11 disc that was in my unit worked perfectly fine (and is now back in, working perfectly fine…) so it can't be the DVD drive. I have just emailed the supplier - who guarantee refunds within the 30 day period - just in case they have a constructive suggestion and an additional procedure is required... If not, it will be going back to them.
