just fitted a set of used roof bars genuiene LR002417

found one end cover the locking screw has broken and wont twist shut.

its the plastic cover piece you put on last after you have adjusted and fitted the bars.

any ideas if its possible to get spare or does some one have a broken or single bar?

If I understand your post correctly you are seeking the roof crossbar end clamp cover which has the black plastic locking "screw" dead centre. If so your LR dealer will not have these individual parts - well they never used to have'em. Note: You'll need to specify Left or Right Hand Top Cover.

They are made by Dodma in Sweden for Thule to supply Volvo. (LR sourced the Volvo/Thule system when they both belonged to the Ford Premium Auto Group) Your source in the UK will be a local Volvo car dealership as the system was designed for the V50 and is on their parts supply system. That is if the dealership is expert in these matters

Better still - contact Roland the owner of "Exeter Roofracks".
He'll be cheaper and quicker than a Volvo dealer. Roland knows more about Thule parts than anyone else in the UK. Even Thule UK send enquiries direct to him for spares. Absolutely True.

Google his website for contact details and call him. Tell him Richard in Switzerland directed you there and he'll understand why you are asking about LR Freelander Crossbar Covers.

The part numbers you need are:
Roofrack Thule/Volvo V50 End Clamp Cover - Black RH Upper: 9484416 - and - Black LH Upper: 9484415 - these are the Volvo part numbers not Thule's! And they come shipped in Volvo packaging and do not have the LR logo on them.

Roland is cheaper and quicker than a Volvo dealer. And he will post them to you pronto no problem

Of course if you are not after the end clamp covers then please ignore the ramblings of Athelstan

the end clamp is ok its just the twist screw in the end cap thats broken.

I'm currently located in Geneva.

I can manage for the time being as its not structural its just what keeps the clamp cover on.
A couple of wraps in black electrical tape keeps it in place.

Ive fitted the ski rack so my only issue is the height and clearance in car parks and garage.

I may be wrong - but - I came across the little single black plastic locking screw you were after

It is registered as a Volvo V50 part code: 8620816

If it is available then Roland down at Exeter RoofRacks will get it for you, and post it wherever you want
