You could be right there.
I suppose I'd better play it safe and fit the brackets. I just don't like the idea of drilling holes in a near 20k car. My main concern is whether it could rust where the spoiler is fitted.

As far as I am aware there is no drilling involved. They act as clamps.

No drilling should be necessary. The brackets bolt to the spoiler & clamp it to the body of the car. Unmoveable. ...

Definitely no drilling required - The brackets just hook over the edge of the tailgate to hold it in place (added security for the 3m tape).

I also have a Powerful UK spoiler fitted but I had the brackets & screws sprayed so they would be colour coded and as I had heard reports from others that the screws have a tendency to rust:

Ahh yes had a proper look at the brackets and you don't have to drill.
Already dropped spoiler off for spraying so may just spray the brackets myself before fitting.
I don't want rusty streaks running down the boot!
