| taztastic Member Since: 03 Feb 2011 Location: North West Posts: 8652    | It could be that on full lock the pressure in the steering system is at maximum, this gives an unusual noise, the tyres could also be slipping across the surface making a noise, mine squeal loudly on some surfaces without any speed involved.

I think it is the ribbed surface of the concrete. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own! | ||

Wet tyres and full lock coming down from the top level. 1st time I thought I had clipped the curb as it wasn't the usual tyre squeal. Happened on every level going from the flat down onto the ramp. | ||

 Sounds like a good way to kill your clutch quickly. When I was taught to drive, I was told that the clutch pedal should either be all the way down, or your foot shouldn't be touching it, except for hill starts. Not always possible, but a good thing to aim for. Try 2nd + HDC if you have to, or 2nd + a touch of brake. | andycwb Member Since: 08 Oct 2013 Location: United Kingdom Posts: 108      | I've been driving with HDC on the car for the last 6 years (in a Td5 Disco).  I used it in a number of situations on and off-road and it worked like a charm to keep speed down.

 Same thing happened to me in my Disco 3 in John Lewis  multi storey -Glasgow . Surface was very wet and  think this combined with the grey non slip car park paint they use on the surface as well has an impact - thought I was clipping the kerb coming up the ramp on several occasions and every time I turned on full lock the rear driver wheel seemed to 'kick'. On the flat as well.
