My 57 plate Freelander2 has just done 80,000 miles and the camshaft has shattered! The good thing is the fuel pump has not seized |

Are these problems restricted to 2007 models and is it a mileage/ wear issue?

Has anyone on the forum with an early freelander 2007/2008 replaced the exhaust camshaft with the newer part to prevent this from happening? I have just purchased an early 08 and am interested in how much this would cost to do. Presumably less than the repair if the thing fails.
