Drivers door difficult to lock/unlock and now diff judder

Hi, this is my first post. Bought a 09 XS from Hunters in Southampton a few weeks ago. Very very pleased with the car, except for two small annoying niggles which have appeared. Thought I'd post on here before taking it back to the dealer under warrenty in case it is an easy fix.

Issue 1 : Drivers door sometimes takes 2 or 3 presses of the keyfob to unlock, and the same to lock. Opening with the lever on the inside of the door is fine. Sometimes I have to opened all the windows and reach in! The central locking buttons inside (oddly) seem more reliable, but that could be chance. Is this a common problem? If so, any idea of it is a quick WD40 job on the lock mechanism or is it something more serious which will have to be done under warrenty? I live far from the dealer so if I can avoid going all the way back there then great. There is another LR dealer locally, Harwoods in Basingstoke, but I don't think I can go there as unrelated to Hunters...not sure.

Issue 2 : This morning the back end is jolting when pulling out of junctions. Seems worse turnning right. It is as if the rear diff is locked. The terrain mode is in ROAD mode so should allow some slip. I've seen this issue on a CRV before and it was caused by low diff oil level. I think my Freelander 2 has one of these fancy Haldex active diffs so could it just need some more oil? If so, gear oil or power steering fluid or ATF?

Many thanks
Scott

If it's only a few weeks since you bought it, you need to get it back to Hunters ASAP, the Diff/Haldex would concern me, whilst it's their they can check the door over Thumbs Up p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Door sounds like the latch needs replacing, it will only get worse. Not sure about the juddering but I would get the car in and looked at in case it's the rear diff. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

As above, dealer's problem not yours !

Also, never put WD40 into a lock - it is a penetrating 'Water Dispersant' not a lubricant and is way too thin. I did this once to a car door lock and the lock just fell apart ! FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

Quick update on this. I took it into Hunters shortly after my original post and they replaced the door latch under warranty. The diff issue went away before I took it in, but they gave it a thorough check over and couldn't find anything wrong. The issue hasn't returned since so I'm hoping it was just some water in the diff control electrics or something.

This was the first time it has been back in and I was very pleased with the service I received. They even washed it and hoovered the inside.

Good luck with the judder - hope it has resolved itself

Re dealer wash - I always tell them NOT to wash my cars when they are in - always found in the past they managed to strip off the polish - presumably with a power washer !!!
