Getting rid of scuffs from wing mirror - any tips?

"White van tw*t man" struck my wing mirror this am and has scuffed it a bit
Any tips on how to get rid of the scuff? Some magic stuff anybody knows about?
PS He didn't stop! Time to get that MiWitness Car Video Camera * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

Looks like he has black ones without covers from the picture in his gallery.

So the answer would be to get some mirror covers.

Yep, black ones.
Going to try elbow grease and some black T cut.

If you have any stringy bits then remove them with a very sharp Stanley blade (carefully). Next use a very fine wet and dry sand paper taking care to just remove the rough parts without touching the good. Now you can touch in the marked parts with a black marker pen followed by a layer of back to black type bumper cream (tyre wall shine will do the same). Ok, it won't disappear but it made mine look far better.

Believe it or not good old black shoe polish works a treat on minor scuffs - apply with a brush too!

Cheers chaps. Foam cleaner out of the workshop at lunchtime has helped.
