Thanks Nick,

Not having been to CG's or to Yorkshire for a while it fooled me.

Whilst on the subject it would appear (but yet to be confirmed by HQ) that Caravan Club sites no longer have rally fields so the meet would have to be on a commercial site, which I will research on return from holiday in September.

Very difficult being retired I have only got 141 holiday days left this year!

I know it's not the Midlands, but I know they have had Rallys at Broadway CC Site, also they have a Rally Field at Chirk CC Site, so they do allow it.

See my last post. It was the Warden at Chirk who informed me that the CC no longer host rallies.

The CC may no longer host rallies, but there are some CC CL's who open up separate fields for rallies 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

England

I thought Chirk did until Bill reposted, they had a separate field for it. Also I've been at Broadway when about twenty consecutive pitches were booked for a rally. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Hi All,

Just got back from Chirk and can confirm no rallies.
However thanks for your interest and had a thought that as we are going on a holiday rally with The Cheshire Retired Caravaners Club to a site in Stourport-On-Severn called "Lickhill Manor" which according to my members brochure is,
"A licensed site with all facilities included in the price on a level riverside meadow within easy walking distance of Stourport-On-Severn."
Also for those who must there is fishing on the site.

Do not think you can get much more central that this and within east distance of Motorways.

Total cost for 7 nights for our club is £52.00 so will report back in early September when we return home.

Cheers,

Hi Folks,

Found the website for Lickhill Manor (no connection with "Lickin Chicken"or CG) looks very good but rally field only available to recognised caravan organisations and to me normal prices seem very expensive but then I usually only caravan on rallies with the CC or CRCC.

Let me know your thoughts as making individual booking for 10+ vans will be like "knitting fog" as I found out with "The Bala Day Out" and Taz appears to be experiencing with the Halewood visit.

Right, results of visit to Lickhill.

1-Rally field only available to recognised Caravan Organisations.
2-Touring pitches in a very tree covered area. Not much sunshine and leaves/bird debris on van roofs.
3-Pricey Pitch + 4 Mid Season with EHU £22.00,Awning £3.00,Dogs £1.50 limited breeds.
4-River Seven Public Footpath running through site.

Stourport on Severn not much to write home about, however Bewdly approx. 5miles distant very interesting ancient town and port.

This one not for me folks.

Will refresh topic Jan 2014 and see if we can take it from there, but have to say with the forum having such a disparate and widespread membership I think it would be very difficult to arrange even a date, not to mention number of days etc.

Just a quick word from a newbie. I really hope all the difficulties in organising such an event as this can be overcome. It would be excellent to meet up with forum members and compare notes over a beer or three.

A discussion will probably take place this w/e after an officiating/photography expedition to the Rally GB in Dyfnant Forest by a couple of the Forum moderators and some other interested party's.
Although I have to say pulling together all the disparate wishes/wants/times etc. of who knows how many caravaners there are on this forum is beging to look like an impossible task.

But as they say, "you never know your luck in the big city" so watch this space.
