Back from France

Oh I so enjoyed travelling without traffic !
If you have never been to Puy du Fou its a must it just gets better ! http://www.puydufou.com/en

We go once every 5 years and you really need about 3 days & the night ciniscene show which is spectacular gets booked up up to a year in advance !! its better than any show I have seen in Vegas

They also have a spectacular Roman scene in a replica roman Coliseum that seats about 9000 people !

We had some peaceful camp sites

& best of all no traffic

untill we got back to England & it took 7.5 hrs to cover 175 miles due to accidents & roadworks on M20-M26-M25-A3 & A303 ! copped the lot !

Dont ask about the FR2 as its in the dog house ! Injection module fault this year ! NSF window motor failed ! & drivers door lock ! so 5 years running & failed every years abroad so far but managed to get it home, just logged faults with EMl on so had to keep clearing ! what is it with these things !
But otherwise good holiday !

Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Mr. Green

Photos are great! Mine are not nearly as good as yours. Embarassed

I'm still in Spain at the moment, but will be crossing the border into France on the way home. Really enjoying it. Smile

Sorry to hear about your FL2, when are you due to pick up the new one?

Hi Chris, you had some fantastic pics, I must admit when I go through the alps and Pyrenees the scenery is stunning but for me this year I didn't want to venture too far so only went as far as Royan in the south west,

Haven't had any news on the new one arriving yet so still awaiting !

Have safe trip back, with more great photos Bow down

Hi,
Great pictures and thanks for the info. I believe I am correct in seeing that you are towing a twin axle van. What is it and how heavy. How does the Freelander cope.
I currantly tow a Coachman pastiche 560/4 and have just returned from a 3000 mile trip to Austria, Switzerland and back up through France with the van doing 2300 miles. It towed superbly with 65mph in cruise being no problem on the motorway, doing around 30 mpg. Van is probably 1600kg loaded so am seeking advice on going to 4 wheels.
Thanks,
Paul

Puy Du Fou looks great and less than an hour from where I stay in France. I take it's not worth just going for a morning or an afternoon? Got the dog with us when we go in September and can't leave him all day.

Hi pb1008

Puy Du Fou, in answer to your question you really need three days, do three shows 1 day, 2 shows another day & on the day you do the two shows go to the evening show for the water musical but keep a spare day so you can see the night cinescene. You need to be there an hour + before it starts & you do queue as about 15K people attend the show ! often booked up 6 months in advance.

The cinescene show that starts at 10.30 till midnight is just awesome ! 20 euros will get you a radio set with ear phones to cover the shows and the night show for 4 people . No deposit as you just keep them.

I am sure they have dog kennels there ! so check on the web site.

I have been three times & each time the temp has been between 35-44 and often still 30+ at midnight ! so you dont want to do too much in 1 day !

It really is spectacular Thumbs Up

OG, thanks for all the info I appreciate it. If you're heading that way again, let me know I'm in that area 6 or 7 times a year.
