United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black
finally replaced my FL2

As some may know I had 11 glorious months spending a fortune to keep my full main dealer serviced FL2 on the road including a stint of 2/3 months off the road in a garage being reparied, all mechanical repairs not bodywork etc, in all about £4k not including hire cars and the £4k loss on selling it on Big Cry ).

Well I sold it back in march and have been trying to find something that floated my boat, was going to get a Seat Leon FR but another story; So just replaced it yesterday with this eye catching little beast ( sorry LR ).

Let's hope it proves more reliable than the cursed FL2.
It is an 11 month old Skoda Octavia VRS with 6k miles and remaining manufactures warranty Smile

Cheers for all your help on the FL2 problems in the past. Let's hope I had all the bad luck and the new owner has a reliable time with it, after my spending spree!

Lovely colour! Bow down I really like Skodas, and lime green! Enjoy it, they are brilliant cars. Thumbs Up

The citigo is almost the same colour, just a tad lighter.
That has proved an awesome little car, over 4k miles on the clock now and life time avg fuel is 64 mpg! And I do not hang around in it, misses cannot wait to get her car back.

Just happened to be driving by yesterday and nailed an almighty deal on the VRS and it drove like its on rails Smile (GONE) FL2 2008 SE (manual) Santorini Black, the expensive one Sad

I think you are going to take a bigger hit than £4,000 when you try & sell that car on with that colour Whistle

Let us hope that the FL2 is never available in Lime Green! It might suit the Skoda (although not to my taste) but it certainly wouldn't suit something like the FL2! Unless, that is, you're the type of person who would go for the Evoque in the first place...

Must say I'm not a fan of the current vogue for black wheels. Apart from that, Skoda do seem to make some nice cars these days. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech
2012 TD4 GS Auto Orkney Grey - gone

Agreed, Skoda make some good cars these days (as you'd expect, as they're part of VAG). But they're not cheap any more - I really don't understand how a 4x4 Yeti can cost as much as an FL2! Doubtless it's a nice car, but as nice as the FL? Sorry, not in my book!

I would only ever buy an Evoque if I could have an FL2 as well. I'm not sure if lime would suit the Freelander or not, but I would choose a more interesting colour than black or grey, (saying that my next one will probably be black) I really like the Mauritius blue, and it looks great on the FL2.

We all have different tastes and opinions. Smile

I agree bugblatter, black wheels aren't to my taste either. Thumbs Up

If I was going to buy something to keep the FL2 company it wouldn't be an Evoque - it would be a Defender...

I like the Evoque but not nearly as much as my FL2. If money was not a problem I would have an RRS, I just like the Evoque in the green as its my favourite colour. I wouldn't buy one otherwise as the rear is fugly and visibility is poor.

Almost as boring and off topic as the 'auto/manual' saga, perhaps a cheery "best of luck" would be more suited Smile
