This Monday at 10am, for those who are interested, the Antonov 225 is due to make an appearance.
It's the largest aircraft in the world and only been to Manchester once before in 2006.
It's coming in to pick up ship parts for Korea and due out on Tuesday at noon.
If you're going make the most of it. Pics to follow. Wink

Definitely not out of service - well its little brothers aren't anyway. Where I work, these behemoths are in and out most days of the week, sometimes 2 in together.

Still amazes me how they actually get off the ground, especially when you see what they carry Shocked MY2010 TD4 HSE Santorini Black, 19" Alloys, Almond Leather, Lux Pack, Rear Spoiler, Adaptive Xenons

The Antonov 225 in Pinkys photo is the only one in the world flying I believe, there is another in existence but only in pieces.
One heck of a lump of metal to be whizzing round the skies, taking off must be a real treat for captain with a full load on board. Bow down

That is one big bad boy aircraft.

What's it's size in relation to the Airbus A380? 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

A380 fuselage would fit inside Thumbs Up

The 225 was retired and in quite a state when Communism collapsed. It was then bought and re-commissioned for private use, as it was only for military use initially. Apparently the owners are considering refurbish the second plane to cope with demand. Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35
