Anyone know the best way to compost horse manure? I can get some free from a stables close to work. I've google'd it but i'm getting a few conflicting reviews. Ive currently 3 big garden waste bags full of manure, do I just keep turning the stuff over or is there a better way of composting it? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

The soil in my garden isnt that good, but I can leave the manure until autumn or winter to break down. I think I willl get some more and leave it to break down. Can I use it as a mulch or does it need to be dug in? Cheers! Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker. Gone MY2010 Freelander 2 Manual TD4.e S, Alaska White. |

I would agree, really depends where the horses have been grazing, but chances are there will be weed seeds in there somewhere. Iain |

I'll chance it as my soil isn't very good and the stuff is free. I'll keep hoeing the weeds lol. Didn't realise but horses can produce upto 8 tonnes of the stuff each year! Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
