Some bait and poison near the hole tonight might not be a bad idea, obviously making sure your child can't get anywhere near.

Got a couple of traps with nutella on, and going to jam a cloth down the hole, if it gets chewed I know it's mice if it gets eaten the it's a rat, if it disappears I have a major issue |

Luckily I haven't had any problems with rat/mice.......yet. The only time I have to deal with them is when my cat brings the odd alive one into the house. One mouse managed to hide itself behind the kitchen unit! I managed to trap it a few days later and I released it back into my garden. At least the mouse I had didn't cause too much damage, it just chewed through some of the skirting board. My washing machine and plastic pipes/cables were spared! |

Have to put traps in the loft every year as soon as it gets cold, god knows how they get in. They travel up and down between the walls as well. The snap of the trap and subsequent few seconds of bumping around wakes me up but I go back to sleep happy. |

Thought about speeding up the purchase of the air rifle and doing some stalking, but decided the gas pipes there might get in the way |
