Would the fitting of a rear spoiler reduce the amount of spray deposited onto the rear window or are they purely a cosmetic enhancement.

They do have a tiny aero benefit (drag reduction, NOT down-force) but this is cancelled out as soon as you fit side steps, tow bar or open a window |

It is unlikely the rear spoiler makes no improvement to drag what so ever. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

It helps with keeping dust off the rear window. |

I paid £50 all in from a friend of a friend to get my primed spoiler painted. One online ebay seller who gives an option of supplying them pre-painted wanted an extra £120 on top of the price of the spoiler to do the same. Cant see any spray shop charging much more than £70 including materials to paint one. I was going to have a go myself with a couple of rattle cans but I know I would have made a complete balls up of it. They are very easy to fit - 5 minutes max!
