That's a must to maintain the Land Rover 'macho-ness'
I was reading a local forum about 4x4 reliability during this snowy weather, and somebody called Freelanders 'Gaylanders' and knocked their ability.

I was amused but slightly miffed because I have just had great results in the snow in Liverpool countryside outskirts Now - Black 2012 FR2 SD4 XS really miss the RRS

They obviously don't have any idea what they are talking about. I have been to two LRE days and a full day off roading in Bala with Landcraft and all the people I've spoken to, who are off road experts, agree that the FL2 is very capable indeed. Oh, and Roger Crathorne (known as Mr Land Rover) has nothing but praise for it too. gone MY2010 GS TD4 Manual Stornoway

I stupidly posted for some advice on the landy zone website before buying and got met with the same comments, it seems that form is populated with people that fix things with a lump hammer!

Comments like that reflect solely on the commenter, not the commented! They are usually driven by some deep-seated psychological issue (caveat, I'm not a psychologist except in the amateur sense Smile ), usually insecurity. So one should really pity them rather than feel offended by their comments.

That said, the kinds of comment often found here on this far-superior forum Wink in which the abilities of vehicles are objectively analysed and criticised (rather than the sexual orientation of the vehicle's owner questioned) are absolutely fine.

When I first got my freelander my neighbour said 'oh nice car. Is that what you call a softroader - couldn't you afford a proper 4x4'.

i pointed out they had completed the camel trophy in Freelanders... he seemed satisfied at that Laughing (Coming) 2016 RR Evoque td4 180 HSE Dynamc

Oh and the FL2 is better than my FL1 as they improved the departure angle and the vulnerabilities and unreliabilities (anti-roll bar bushes for example). FL2 HSE Lux 2013
