Just changed my Yokohama geolanders @ 50K miles for Continental Cross Contact AT in 235 65 17. Much beter in the mud than yokohamas, negotiated some steepish v muddy tracks at the sides of fields today down in a wet cornwall, very little TC required |

Few of the D3 & D4 boys and girls have the new Goodyear duratrac fitted and they look very good, fitted swmbos FL2 with wintrac extreme 4's while I run Pirelli ATR's on my D3, will be looking to swap them this year as they have done near on 30k so will see what comes up. |

They look great are there any implications by putting 245/70/17 at tyres on apart from the speedo ? When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car |

I spoke to a tyre man earlier and he advised me against fitting 245 70 17 as the gearing will be crap low down. What do you suggest ? 245 65 17 or 235 65 17 or 245 70 17 as above I have a manual car not an auto When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car |

Unless you're regularly having problems with ground clearance oversize tyres make little sense in the UK (different in Oz), so stick with the standard 235/65 17! |
