Link up a pully, so you are pulling at a angle, if the stump comes out at a rate you won't end up with a stump shaped dent in the rear bumper, like I did in a old car pulling a conifer |

Agree, don't know the size but I hired a stump chipper, ground it down below the surface, drilled holes and poured in some root killer. |

I don't think the FL2 is the best tool for the job. I'd be concerned about finding a sturdy enough attachment point for the pull chains and excess strain on the transmission. I also wonder if it has enough torque to do the job. Also, explosives are more satisfying |

Six tonnes, that's as maybe but towing eyes are primarily installed for own vehicle recovery, I wouldn't fancy all my underneath bits at full torque removing my stump |

Exactly. If the 6t rating can be trusted, it's likely for static load not shock load. Moreover, the shackle itself might be 6t rated, but if it's attached to a structure that isn't also 6t rated it doesn't matter what the shackle rating is. The weakest point will always fail first.
