A (Sunset) Ride Through the Woods

Went out today in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey for a quick ride. These photos were all taken around sunset navigating the sand roads between Lacey, NJ and Manchester, NJ.

It was also the first time I've gone off the tarmac with my new Firestone Destination ST tires. They felt great, gripped well going through a few mud puddles and - just as important - feel spectacular on-road as well.

Great pictures Dan, good to see your sat Nav is up to date Laughing

We have very few roads over here that we can use, certainly all the forest tracks are privately owned, there is the odd scenic drive but these are very tame and smooth, created especially for the city dwelling bunny huggers to fell at one with nature.

Too true. There's one quite close to me in Kielder forest which is billed as being for 4x4 vehicles, but over the years I've been through it in all kinds of things, including a couple of Alfas and a Lotus! So it doesn't exactly challenge a Land Rover. It would be great to have forest roads like that we could use.

One thing though, the car looks like it just came out of the car wash - where's all the mud?! Smile

Get down to Salisbury Plain - lots of byways and most FL2 friendly.......best to hook up with LRO Adventure Club or ask me nicely Rolling with laughter * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

I wish I had known that a couple of weeks back, picked up some wheels from a place called Skynet 5, looked as though there were lots of lanes, but also lots of tanks Shocked

Will defo have to try some though, in Lancashire we dont have a single green lane as far as I know Crying or Very sad

Unfortunately that's about 350 miles from me, and not a part of the country I get to very often. Otherwise I'd be very tempted to come and take a look.
