Caravan Insurance

Our caravan insurance is coming due soon, and the Caravan club are asking for the same premium as last year,, which is just over £500. Van is Vanmaster, new for old value of £27500.

Anyone with any possibilities of cheaper cover in mind ? Van is stored inside, is alarmed, and has a tracking device.

Replies to this thread from Chicken George will be ignored on the basis that they will be scathing and derogatory to us responsible carravanners who do not hold up large John Deere tractors with over-wide tyres!!!!!!!

Thanks, Transman

I haven't looked around for my insurance yet, but i think the level of cover provided by the CC is quite good

Have a look through a caravan magazine there seems to be companies advertising there each month, if you don't have any magazines laying around let me know i look through and provide a few numbers whn i get home Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Ah pre-empted, you know me well Laughing Ever tried NFU insurance maybe not the cheapest but very good, often coming top in surveys etc. I can advice full insurance as my mates sherman tank arrives this week!

Actually the tractor is now on its summer tyres, each only about 10" wide so I can drive through my crops without squashing them all. The wheel change took about 3 hours so no chance of an F1 pit lane job for me.

I have NFU caravan insurance, price is competitive rather than cheap but the cover is very good. also when a chap I know had to make a claim, their claims service was apparently first class.
May be worth getting a quote.

I have heard good reports from NFU though never got a price

CC Insurance handled my claim great when somebody tried to take my 6 month old caravan Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Hi Transman,

Try MCIA telephone 0870 366 1245 they always beat CC quotes and have very similar policies.

No probems with claims, and I have found them to be efficient and fare.

Just paint it pink - you won't need insurance - no one would nick it. Mind you when touring you might get alluring looks from those farmer boys! Rolling with laughter Freelander 2 - SE
