Can you dig a ditch toward the stream? Build a moud of mud/sandbags to deflect its course

Other than digging up the road, no. Problem is that the gulley tops get blocked with mud. All I can do is remove a few until the danger has passed. It's very rural here, but all the same, I'd need to keep an eye out for walkers. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
