Audio wheel controls not working

Just purchsed a Landrover freelander td4 es now everything is perfect apart from this one thing that will really annoy me until i can get it sorted.

Now so far I have managed to remove the stereo system it is the original cassette with 6 cd changer now all looks good and stereo works apart from a cable that has been disconected there is no where for it to go so i can only assume it has had an after market stereo in at some stage and then the original put back in.

So removed steering wheel surround nothing is unpluged all wiring looks good, and all fuses work.

So why won't my controls work ?

welcome

so looking at your details, you have a S spec FL2 with 6 disc auto changer and its steering wheel controls for volume, mode etc that are not working?

when you say there is a cable that can not be pluged in, what type of connector is it? Picture maybe?

Just a thought, the signature line states, " Freelander TD4 Old School" is this the original Freelander and not the Freelander 2 Question You also mention Cassette which leads me to think this is the original Freelander Question

I agree with AD's thinking that it's a TD4 ES pre 2006/7 model and not an FL2.

Hi yes it is the 2001 td4 so proper old school Smile but this is really annoying me and only landrover freelander forum i could find.

Now something very odd happened earlier as i was on the motorway i knocked the volume control and the radio station changed ?

The cable has a red plastic 2 pin plug attached looks like a power supply for something, will take radio out and get a photo in daylight. Mummy of 3 and 2 terrible collies and delighted owner of the freelander td4 old school
