Got it in my MY11 XS and have had no reception problems in deepest Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and environs even where mobile phone reception is rubbish. |

Looks like I need to get the handbook out and try again. It痴 a bit of a waste on me anyway as I only have 5 live on. A Land Rover owner since 1988

I travel to Cornwall a few times a year to see family and DAB has never missed a beat |

Please remember, if you drive to a different location, you will need to re-scan to update the Local DAB Station list. National Stations (Radio 1/2/3/4 etc) will automatically retune as you move, but Regional ones won't.

I have a 12 plate GS. DAB is standard and very good. From Devon up to London and Preston and down into Cornwall no problem with reception. 2012 GS

Is the DAB head unit in the 12MY the same fit/profile as previous model years?

Do a search on here - I'm pretty sure DAB can't be retrofitted.

As well as the head unit, I think you will need an external DAB receiver and window mounted antenna.

Not quite - AM has a longer range so doesn't need much transmitter infrastructure. FM is short range, needs a lot of transmitters AND they want the frequencies for other stuff. That said, at the moment the government is backpedalling on this. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FM_broadcasting_in_the_UK and http://www.culture.gov.uk/news/hot_topics/7231.aspx There's also the fact that we have chosen to use an inferior form of DAB, which is not forward compatible with the DAB+ system beginning to be used in parts of Europe. |
